Photo - Red - Small Black - original Fluke. Bought these for a Fluke 27/FM that I've had since the early 90's. As you can see from the photos, the Klein shell is longer so it doesn't fit completely in the nest (although it fits snugly). This is easily fixed with a pocket knife. What worries me the most is the actual probe material in another photo. Seriously, WTH is that thing?!? It feels like some kind of coated metal? And it's a solid rod, so the spring pressure on the base wall is obviously zero. Unusually 30 years old, possibly worn bushing. God, even my cheap timer leads in the big orange boxes have spring-loaded probes! (By the way, those cheap cables will work with Fluke too, but there's not much trust factor there, lol). they are acceptable. Klein sells another set of wires with large, strong clips if you're looking for something more permanent. I don't work in the field anymore, so for my purposes, low voltage electronics and housekeeping, they're fine for now. At least until I find something better. The main reason I ended up here anyway is that there were a lot of bad reviews on the Fluke website (at the time of writing this) about their budget cable assemblies, so I figured it couldn't get any worse. But then again with this strong rod. Dude, maybe I was wrong. To be honest I wouldn't trust them for field work, especially on an old gauge that might have a slightly worn socket.
