Buy an NSF Certified Filter Instead

This is a counterfeit Berkey filter. I used to have a Berkey filter, but lately I've been using a Pur table water jug, which I prefer to Berkey for the lower price and increased convenience. does not come with a faucet adapter to help with pouring. You can buy a charging lamp separately. In order for the filters to wear out evenly, you need to fill the top reservoir to the top, which the instructions don't mention. You'll need to clean and refill your filters from time to time, which the instructions don't mention. You can use one, two or three filters that are not mentioned in the manual. The manual also doesn't mention that the filters should be kept wet. This provider relies primarily on information from Berkey. To test if the Berkey filter is working, do a red food coloring test. This product does not mention this test. This Joypur filter failed the red dye test. This means that the Berke filter filters out something that this filter does not. This creates a gurgling sound as the top flows down. My Pur water filter is silent. The base isn't that stable, only four contact points and little friction. I'm afraid it might fall off the counter and cause damage. Other Berkey filter bases have rubber feet for friction. At least it comes with a stand as other filters don't have one. The all-metal reservoir means you can't see how much water is left. You should fill the top container to the brim, but if you pour too much into the bottom container, water can seep into the middle seam. Cheaper plastic table filters do not have this limitation. The filters have a plastic bottom to keep the bottom half inch of water from dripping off the top. The upper part of the Berkey also does not drain completely. Using a dissolved solids meter will increase the TDS number in filtered water. This is normal with an activated carbon filter. Activated carbon filters are not designed to reduce TDS. Reverse osmosis filters ensure this. The current price is $209, which is a lot less than the equivalent Berkey. A plastic pitcher for 18-20 cups costs $30-40. These Joypur filters are not NSF certified and neither are Berkey filters. These ratings are the primary way the consumer will know the filter is working well. The main reason to pay so much for a water filter is if you think the filters are better than the cheaper ones. Without independent testing, there is no proof that the filters provided are superior to cheaper filters. Most municipal water is clean, so water filters don't filter as much. The name of the product mentions that it is used for camping, travel and outdoor activities. It's not relevant. This product is very large and heavy when full. This product will not fit under most cabinets or in a refrigerator.
