I still have an old pair of more expensive plastic rings. Splitting my time between two locations, I was tired of carrying a plastic pair in my checked baggage. What a pleasant surprise that in my hands they are just as good and even much better. The larger diameter probably helps. I didn't bother with the straps and cam but this is an easy and inexpensive replacement. For those who have trouble with small imperfections in a natural material called wood, I suggest going to a hardware store and asking them to show you a thing called sandpaper. Rings are not suitable for bodyweight training.
