Loud and light. on countertop burners

I wanted the induction hob to be separate from my regular hob which is flat electric to have more room to keep warm all day or on the table; or when the main hob is full of large pots and there is no more space. I keep Luke warm in this induction device. The whole time. The fans keep it cool, but there are no slow and fast settings, so it always sounds like a hovercraft engine. Very annoying. Because of this I wouldn't use this for buffet style parties. It heats up a large cast iron skillet well, but will burn on the bottom even at lower heats. Maybe the on/off cycle is to blame. The glass lid is good but gets dirty easily. I'm very concerned about scratches on heavy cast iron, enameled cast iron (dust), or LeCrueset. It was discounted so I might keep it for occasional holiday use or soups, but wasn't as impressed as I could have been. It's about 3 feet tall and has a lightweight plastic case that's easy to store and take out when needed. One nice touch is that the keyboard for control is at an angle so the pot doesn't cover it like some others. You don't want to touch a pad next to a hot pot and burn your finger. Performance and power levels are good.
