I tried to make both shapes. The cube shape was easy to fill and the cubes came out pretty easily and looked pretty good. The spherical shape was uncomfortable to fill. Water kept trying to flow between the two halves of the mold. The result was also less than satisfactory. Two balls split in half when I tried to demould them and the others were part balls because they leaked into the gap between the two halves. I think the design would work better if the two halves could be joined in the middle of the shape. Then the penetration of water decreases. In any case, the top half of the mold wants to "float" as the water flows out of the spheres into the flat space between the mold halves. I would recommend skipping the spherical shape and just buying the cube shape.
