I love this little thing. For me it was very important to have a USB port so I could plug in my laptop instead of having another cable dangling under my feet. The directions provided are not that great. The big gold pin is also a button. Click to turn it on! I don't understand timers at all, but they are not needed. It doesn't heat up through thicker ceramic mugs (like Starbucks mugs) but has worked with all of my standard coffee mugs so far. It also doesn't keep a full cup like room temperature anymore. However, the second half of the cup stays warm. It won't keep anything "hot" though, so don't expect it. It arrived with a very difficult to remove sticker on the top of the panel which I had to goo-gone to get rid of the adhesive but that's a minor thing. Overall I'm happy with it and would buy another one.
