Sent back and ordered another pump from another seller. I paid about $7 more and got the exact same import model pump. After installation, this pump worked fine, only it was difficult to steer when idling, there was not enough pressure. I used Triaxx Synthetic power steering fluid which turned out to be a problem. Apparently Triaxx has a lower viscosity than my car needs. I changed the fluid in the usual way and now everything works perfectly. The moral is firstly buy the cheapest on Revain if it whines replace with another cheap one because the cheap ones are all the same and secondly use the power steering oil recommended by mfg. Triaxx is great, but not for this particular machine. UPDATE: The problem was NOT the Triaxx power steering fluid, it was these pumps. Nissan Altima 2.5 2007, both pumps do not develop enough idle pressure for full power. Maybe defective, maybe a design flaw, maybe not for my car. I ended up going to the scrap yard and bought a used genuine replacement that worked great with Triaxx PS fluid and threw that pump away.
