I bought them as a gift to dye ties. Nicely painted. But when I wanted to buy another set, the price was $2 more for a set of 12. I checked the size. They are listed as 31 x 31 inches - now they are 27.5 x 27.5 after several washes in hot water, still a good sized towel. They are absorbent. They are a good weight and quality for flour sack towels. They are quite square and retain their shape after dying. After the first wash to determine their size for dyeing I found small yellow spots on them but since dyeing them I just kept going, the spots don't appear anymore. The colors are bright! If they look dull or faded in photos, it's due to photography and computers, not towels. The towels have been ironed for photos and do not look square. I blame the camera and the way they are positioned - I'm tired. I also bought Utopia towels. almost the same quality, nicer edges that are a bit wider, but both have good edges on all four sides. Utopia has a washing instruction label. There were more stains on the towels in Utopia that were covered by the paint.
