I ordered a 14" which is slightly shorter than a 14". It wasn't as sharp as I thought it would be, but a few passes through my knife sharpener fixed it. I wanted this for Digiorno frozen pizza and it's the right size for it. I don't know if I'm going to use it for grinding or something else. I can try but I think it will be overkill. My regular kitchen knives are great for all other uses mentioned in his material. The blade guard fits well. The grip is fine. If you could find one with a rubber grip I think it would be a little better but I liked the price and size of this one and it would fit what I wanted perfectly.
