Review on Enhanced SEO: Broan 6605RP Fan Assembly with Part Number 97017646 by Tom Beland

I ordered this as an exact motor and fan replacement for an existing installation where the motor failed. I was expecting to just have to unplug and remove the old build and replace with the new one like I've done with other Broan/Nutone bathroom fans. Unfortunately, the new case comes with a cheap metal band that needs to be adjusted and installed. into the main body, and then a new fan assembly is attached to it. The old case is a one-piece ABS plastic case that fits perfectly and is attached to the main body with two screws. I ended up removing the old motor and fan assembly from the ABS case and replacing it with a new fan and motor. It's just two 7/32" nuts and the bolts line up perfectly. I tested the fan before assembly and it works as it should. Once assembled, the fan and light work great and I'm glad I didn't have to replace them. the whole block. I just can't understand why Broan/Nutone didn't just stick with the existing ABS plastic case and switch to a cheap raw metal case that requires assembly. I'd happily pay a few dollars more for a plug and play solution and not have to spend an extra half hour finding and implementing a solution. Also, it works as expected. The last one worked for almost 20 years, let's hope this one will too.
