I am giving this pantograph one star because if the drawing is carefully traced several times the pantograph will produce copies that differ much more than the width of the pencil line . This is because the diameters of the bolts that hold the levers together are smaller than the diameters of the holes they go through. These loose screws make the arms wiggle as they trace the pattern. Tightening the bolts doesn't help as the movement of the levers loosens the bolts. Here's how I improved this pantograph: I went to my local Sears hardware store and bought a set of 12-24NC taps and drill bits. It cost about $5. The drill size is larger than either of the two hole sizes used in pantograph brackets. The larger size was needed to ensure a tight fit between the bolt and pantograph arm. With the pantograph making copies enlarged to the desired size, I removed the screws one at a time, drilled a hole, screwed it in, and screwed in a 12-24NC screw. This was done for each bolt except the one holding the pen shank. After machining a point on the bolt that serves as a pointer, this pantograph now enlarges much more accurately than the original. It's a shame for the manufacturer to make such an inferior product. Especially since it would be so easy to make one that works well. I doubt anyone in the company has ever tested this product.
