Works great. We bought this to use with a Hunter fan. Our problem was that the fan is lighted (like most ceiling fans) but the house only has a single prong junction box in the wall. So you can actually only switch the entire fan including the lighting on or off, but not individual components. This was especially important as the ceiling fan we installed was for a child's room and we wanted to be able to turn the fan on and off silently without turning on the lights or using a noisy click circuit. The receiver fits exactly and almost perfectly. in the ceiling fan bracket. The instructions for connecting the remote control are quite simple and straightforward. For that part, and if you are installing a brand new fan, I would rely entirely on the receiver instructions and skip the ceiling fan instructions. The wall panel is easy to install and operate. I was hoping to find a model with bigger, more tactile and responsive buttons, something that's a little more sleek and less like one of those handheld remotes that look the same. Unfortunately, after digging into Revain, this is pretty much the only wall remote with 4 or more stars, and certainly the only one that doesn't use batteries (why other models have batteries is completely beyond me; but another reviewer on one of These products have been specified to require the switch to be completely removed from the wall to replace the batteries). There is a minimal delay (maximum half a second) between pressing the button and the reaction of the fan. We used the CFL bulbs that came with the fan and this wall mounted remote has a dimmer function so the light button has the most delay. Generally, there is a delay of about a second before the lights turn on, and then about another half second before they reach full brightness. Not sure if this is the functionality of a wall switch, cheaper CFLs, or maybe both, but I didn't want to spend money on LEDs when I have free bulbs, and I don't want to waste energy and money on bulbs (which is exactly what the instructions require). As such, it's a great solution for running a lighted ceiling fan without having to hire an electrician to swap out the switch box in the wall and get a dual switch. Still, the ability to clearly and instantly display fan speed without using a linear traction chain is great. UPDATE: After using this unit with a Hunter ceiling fan for a while, I noticed that the CFLs that came with the fan were making an audible buzz. Sound. I have since replaced them with dimmable LED bulbs and now the sound is gone. I'm posting this in a review of this product rather than a listing of the fan itself because I'm pretty sure the problem is being caused by the wall/receiver unit and how the chip or volt meter works (especially since I've had these kind of problem with another switch). Therefore, I definitely recommend using dimmable LEDs with this device. Note: Not all LEDs are or are designed to be dimmable. So check the packaging carefully as I'm pretty sure that's what's causing the lights to buzz.
