Easy Install Good for ceiling fans and accessories

With local hardware stores only selling 3 wire or battery powered remotes anymore I had to do some serious digging to find a replacement for the original 2 wire Honeywell units I installed many years ago . THE WESTINGHOUSE WALL REMOTE WORKS GREAT. With micro switches, I can guarantee that none of my other three remotes will interfere with this. All necessary equipment, except electrical tape, was provided. The instructions were easy. Installing both the wall mount and fan-mounted receiver was a

I installed four of these fans in my basement break room to control four Hunter remote controlled LED fans (model #59246) and they all work perfectly. They are installed in a four-seat electrical box. I was able to buy a four piece panel so I didn't need the front panels that came with the controls. The furthest fan is 25 feet from the controls. Since it comes with a transmitter and receiver, I don't need a handheld remote or Hunter receiver. While I like them, I wish they were better if the…

It worked once and only once.

I wanted to use this as a replacement transmitter for an existing fan that already had a transmitter and receiver. The buttons of the old transmitter were missing. I connected the new transmitter (leaving the old receiver in the fan). Set the appropriate codes. I pressed the "Turn on light" button. The little red light on the transmitter blinked and the fan light came on. Great success! However, this is the last time it worked. The little red light never came on again and apparently the RF…

Hooray! no more remote control!

The original control that came with my fan was a remote control and ran on a AAAA battery. Pooh. And of course, this thing loved to keep the LED on when you even looked at it, so it's no wonder the battery died really quickly. The only saving grace was that the fan was still connected to the switch, so we could flip the switch and turn on the light. But. There's no fan, which is especially nice when you need air circulation. I finally got fed up - I scoured the internet, found what I needed to…

Works perfectly so far, relatively easy to install.

Installed on a 6 year old 52" Hampton Bay lighted ceiling fan. Good installation instructions and generally easy installation if you have a deeper protective shell to install the transmitter. Really, any non-flush mount fan should work. My fan has one chain for the lights (on/off) and another for the speed (3 speeds) so I left the speed switch on high and turned on the light before removing both pull chains after installation. The installation took about an hour and a half ;would have been half…

Great for my situation, yours may be different

This little device was a life saver to solve the sheer stupidity of the original builders of my home! For some reason every room in my house has a switch on the door that controls the outlet in the room, not the ceiling fans. I needed a way to control both the fan and the light on the fan without running extra wires through walls and without having to install a dual box for an extra switch. This device solved my problem. It uses the power at its location to send a wireless signal to a receiver…

Great way to upgrade your wiring!

We have five of these wall switches installed in our home. Our home was built in the early 90's and each ceiling fan/light was not connected via switches to a separate fan and light controller. They had to be controlled with tension chains, which was impractical in some rooms where fans hung from vaulted ceilings. We needed a way to control fans and lights separately without running additional wires, which I didn't want. There are several such remote controls that look exactly the same but have

Great ceiling fan upgrade for an old house, but not easy to install.

I have a 94 year old house with 5 old ceiling fans. All had tension chain controls that are difficult to operate in the dark. The Westinghouse remote control kit replaces the wall switch with a transmitter and mounts the receiver inside the fan. To install this system you must turn off the switch and be able to do electrical work on the stairs. Each device has a 4-switch DIP switch (double row housing) that you can set to provide a unique setting for each device. With 4 switches you can control

Economical and logical solution for rooms with a pole and switch

Works great. We bought this to use with a Hunter fan. Our problem was that the fan is lighted (like most ceiling fans) but the house only has a single prong junction box in the wall. So you can actually only switch the entire fan including the lighting on or off, but not individual components. This was especially important as the ceiling fan we installed was for a child's room and we wanted to be able to turn the fan on and off silently without turning on the lights or using a noisy click…
