Review on SANSUI ES-27G2 - 27" Adaptive Computer Speakers with 1920X1080P Resolution, 240Hz Refresh Rate, Glossy Screen, Adaptive Sync, Wall Mountable, and Height Adjustment by Fernando Townsend

I have a fast enough system and am testing higher framerates, no problem. To make sure I could get past 100 with ease, I mostly played Destiny 2 on high settings. I work on game development during the day and usually at night, but I like to put in a few hours of gameplay a week (okay, maybe more than a few. You can't tell me what to do!). My setup is more for creative than gaming, and the monitors I use are very large and color calibrated, but with a few exceptions, they don't have high refresh rates. It will be nice to see how the 240Hz display performs in games. The first impression after unpacking is how light this monitor is. Compared to all my other monitors, that's a no-brainer compared to a car tire. This is crazy and I love it. However, I do know that the lack of weight means a cheaper display, fewer features, and indeed a very limited design. When the base is attached, the display is still loose. It has noticeable play, so if you play hard and move the table while playing, the entire monitor moves because it's very light, but the display shakes on the stand. I doubt this will happen often or easily, but if your table is unstable or you're playing particularly rough, you'll notice this problem. After connecting to a computer, I compared colors, contrast and image quality. Colors are muted and slightly washed out, contrast is limited but acceptable, and brightness is very high. This is done without any changes to the monitor settings. Settings is the next thing I checked. It's terrible. Don't bypass it. You have three buttons on the left; a power button and the other two to access the menu. Any time I review a monitor, I always go to the menu to see how intuitive and easy it is to access. Access sucks. You press either arrow button to get into the menu, but it's not entirely clear how to select which setting to change. I didn't even bother because if they can't offer a simple and user-friendly system that's easy to understand and use without looking at the buttons, then it's an absolute failure. You have a very limited number of input options for standard computer connections. Every monitor I own and have used over the years has had multiple inputs for common cable types. Currently the most common are the HDMI and DP types and you will usually find 2 or more of these on a panel. It has an HDMI and a DP port, as well as one for each USB type except USB-A. That's not entirely unreasonable considering the price, but I would expect at least two HDMI ports. Finally games. As mentioned, I ran this with Destiny 2 because I know I can get very high framerates at 1920x on high settings. The monitor I usually game on is 4k and only 60Hz, but everything else about it is exceptional, which is why I use it to create digital art. When playing at 1920x I don't have any eye strain or fatigue issues unless it's a particularly poorly optimized game (CP 2077?) running on a powerful system (3090 GPU/3950x CPU, 64GB RAM) not running at high settings. . What's good is showing the quality of the game art and effects. After about 30 minutes of gameplay, the game ran very smoothly and the high frame rate really worked well on this display. Everything was buttery smooth and easy to follow. What I didn't like was the almost flickering effect in some textures, which I suspect could be an issue with the display's PPI. Try as I might, I couldn't find anything other than the basic specs for this monitor, so I have no idea what that number is. Based on the cost of this monitor I would guess that it isn't very high or something else is either limited or doesn't have a feature that causes such an effect. It doesn't interfere with gameplay, but it does degrade image quality, which I haven't noticed on any of my six other monitors (most of them are much higher quality digital art displays like the Wacom Cintiq). ). All in all, this would be a great budget gaming monitor for the average person. The display controls are terrible, but otherwise this is a very good start for an average gaming system.
