Listed as a gaming monitor. With a claimed 240Hz refresh rate, that's probably the case. This ensures the game scrolls smoothly as the screen refreshes 240 times per second. Of course, your system, especially your GPU, must be able to output frames at that rate. However, I don't use it for gaming (yet), so I haven't tested it. I actually use it for my midi setup. Here's my first read: PROS: + Reasonable price, especially for the 27" size. + Good range of connectors: (HDMI, DisplayPort and - my favorite - USB-C) + Bright, good color reproduction + Via USB-C can I can run the monitor from my laptop while the laptop is charging This saves the laptop's USB-C port which I use to power a hub for things like an external sound card, trackball and speakers Standard black plastic CONS:- The speakers are pretty tinny. I used an old 27" LG TV as a monitor (the laptop screen was too small for audio editing) and the speakers on it were much better. Of course, computer monitors aren't usually the speakers of choice. The tv worked fine but the picture had ghosting and the tv was very heavy so this monitor had to be replaced. The menu controls are on the back. It's about s awkward to get to them even though the front of the monitor is clear. below would be more convenient. There is no way to change the base volume or the sound on the monitor (which was on the TV). As I work with audio I play it through several separate speakers which have the best tone and control bass/treble etc in the DAW. The 1920 x 1080 max resolution is okay, but it's a big screen and I'm only a few feet away from it, so it's not as sharp as the ideal setting. However, I don't run really high-resolution graphics on it (yet), so it does my job of recording and audio editing. SUMMARY: This is a pretty good monitor for the price, especially considering the high refresh rate. I can't use this level on my current setup (HP Spectre), can only run at 60Hz anyway, and I need something like an nVidia RTX 3060 to run at that speed. Since a card to boost this Sansui monitor will cost several hundred dollars, it makes sense to get a higher resolution monitor for a serious gaming rig. That said, it's good for me, and I'll update this review when I can run games - without an HP Specter, of course, as it's not gaming-ready; UserBenchMark gives it a "log" for gaming :-(. Otherwise it's a competent monitor, good size, decent resolution, great refresh rate and a pretty good buy. Would recommend.
