Adheres to the metal surface of the phone with a very weak, sticker-like adhesive. So weak, in fact, that the case fell apart after the first few days. I never took my cases off until it was time to trade the phone in for an upgrade, so I used rubbing alcohol to remove the sticker and opted for superglue. Not a great solution, but my problem is solved. In two years I will stop using medicinal alcohol again. Personally I would try a different case as I'm not too happy with my purchase but it does the job.
