Installation was very easy. The hardest part is removing the factory air intake - some clips are a real monster if done carefully. In any case, the new air intake fits perfectly and is easy to screw on. I saw an increase in mileage the day of installation as I had to make multiple trips. Nothing radical, but an improvement of 2-3mpg. which is very useful on a 3/4 ton truck. There is no noticeable change in engine noise at idle or even at cruising speed. However, if you step on the gas when starting or under load, you get a very pleasant growl.
