This machine is really good for the beginner/intermediate level, which is what I use it for. I'm sure it will be great for whatever else you want to do. It has most of the attachments I need, is easy to put on and take off, and has some great extras. Very light, with a nice removable extension table. Although it has a hard cover I will buy a suitcase on wheels to take to quilting classes or lessons as my other Elna used to tip over in her car and shake as I got there and back. This is my first Janome machine and only my second sewing machine so I really like it.
