Review on Lamplight 110 Chamber Oil Lamp by Mia Smith

Mostly rubbish in home decoration products

I ordered these based on some very good reviews. We have power cuts quite often, and I remember my grandparents having something similar as a kid and always ready - as opposed to fast-burning candles and flashlights with expensive dead batteries, they were always ready with some handy kerosene. So I bought 4 thinking they would be a good gift for my house and for my son. It's fairly small, and that's okay, but the metal mechanism could very well have been aluminum foil. It's very thin and snaps easily into place. In fact, the entire assembly on one of the lamps just fell apart when I poured oil into the base and tried to unscrew the top. For example, all the parts, including the part that turns the fuse up and down, fell apart like in an old Roadrunner cartoon. I came here to try to set up a refund and Revain states that a refund is not possible. I've never had a product that I couldn't return. The other 3 are still in their boxes but this one is on my bookshelf which accidentally has the globe hanging on it. Here the manufacturer has to spend a few cents more for a slightly higher quality metal construction. If it falls apart after I blow the fuse, it could burn my house to the ground like a floor full of lamp oil catching fire. This is dangerous.
