Review on Emerson Ceiling SR400 4 Speed Receiver by Mike Davan

Very easy to install. I needed a remote control and receiver because the wall switch box that came with the fan was too big to fit in the switch box with the old light switch. My house was built in 1927, so the electrical boxes are smaller metal and the wiring is old wire wrapped in cloth so it takes up more room in the box. In any case, it was necessary to get this product. Wiring was easy. But then again, because I have old wiring, it took up more space in the bracket that holds the ceiling fan motor. After some rewiring, I placed the receiver in the bracket, reinstalled the fan, turned the power back on, and turned on the light switch. The fan didn't turn on. I pressed power on the remote and still nothing. I pressed one of the fan speed buttons and it turned on. All speeds work and the power button works too. And remembers the last speed setting. Also, I never had to set the little numbers in the remote as instructed, but that's probably because I don't have a wallbox controller.
