I love this item. She also gets a lot of giggles and comments. There is a strong strap under the belly that really helps keep it in place. Two more managed to get around the hind legs, but there was no desire to fight, and that wasn't necessary just yet. If you are a runner I can see how the jacket can slide forward and you may want to use it. I have a 60 lb Pitty with a blocky head and chest. I have the large and it fits pretty well. I will not complain as nothing is done for these dogs. From the length of the back and hood, maybe XL would have been better, but I think the front flap would be too long and she might trip. The hood doesn't cover her head in any way, which makes me sad if for any reason other than a missed photo shoot, but it warms the neck nicely and keeps it dry for the most part.
