Not every good idea goes hand in hand with precision and high quality. This TRIWONDER stem is a great idea, albeit poorly executed. Cycling should be fun. The parts must be of the highest quality and durability, even for the occasional ride, but of course to each their own. When parts fail or could fail, that's a very different reality. Cannot ride a bike if the handlebars break off. I wanted to replace the original high quality stem on my mountain bike to add some height. Found this TRIWONDER stem and decided to give it a try; The size was right and the fit was right, but like 99% of everything else at Revain, the quality was lacking. I switched barrels a few weeks ago. The stem squeaked on every ride and every time I checked to be sure the bolts were tight. Yesterday, just after inspecting and riding, I noticed the paint was cracking between the two bolts on this new stem. Upon closer inspection, I saw that it wasn't just paint that broke the rod. My first thought was that my steering wheel was about to break and I would fall. I immediately stopped and cycled home, replaced my original stem, and here we are without incident. Other factors related to stem quality include vehicle usage, driver weight and steering wheel stress while driving. While I'm no pro when it comes to the details of these items, they make a world of difference. Weights and limits are set for a reason. I can't stress this enough, check your bikes before, during and after every ride. Even the highest quality and most durable mechanisms require constant monitoring and preventive maintenance.
