I used to use a spout-mount PUR filter, but it was weighing too heavily on the spout, so I decided to change to a counter-top filter. This one was inexpensive and small enough for the space available. Note well: I use this to filter out chlorine taste. The PUR filter got rid of all sorts of bad things, too, but I think my water supply is good enough that I don't need to care about those. If you're worried about more than just taste, you should probably look elsewhere. The filter flow is VERY fast, and the water tastes good. My only problem in the installation was that I have an unusual spout thread, and, while an appropriate adaptor was included, I didn't have the necessary plumbing tape to keep it from leaking, so I used another adaptor I had. Otherwise, no issues.
