Review on Threaded Phenolic Socket Lamp with Turn Knob by Erik Peterson

thought this socket would work to replace the broken socket in the desk lamp we have. The existing socket looked exactly like this one, so it was a direct replacement. Unfortunately, whoever assembled the original lamp base overtightened the set screw and deformed some of the threads. I removed the old bushing and started screwing on the new one. I only used my bare hands but this replacement socket broke in my hand rendering it unusable. Didn't try to get another one from this seller because I found another seller here that had 2 sockets for the same price as this one. I also ordered a 1/8 IP crystal so I can fix the threads before trying to install a new socket again.
