I bought these pouches to make small heat sealable packages of various condiments and snacks for lunch while camping. I can confirm that the type of plastic they are made of is identical to what you will find at your local grocery store. This means they can be easily sealed with a hair straightener. I seal my bags with a hair straightener set to 280F and it takes a split second to seal. I've sealed liquids, peanut butter, jelly, butter, fruit, nuts, various powders, and a whole host of other things. Keep in mind that these bags already have a zipper on one end. I only heat seal because I cut the tubes to smaller lengths. Also, this product comes straight from China with no branding. So I VERY doubt it's BPA free! But as long as you're not cooking food in it, a little bit of BPA isn't going to kill you.
