Review on πŸ’Ώ Dell DW316 Black USB DVD Drive by Kris Feezy

Revainrating 1 out of 5

DELL MAKES NO WARRANTIES

Attention! Dell specially designed its phone system and trained its reps to block warranty claims if bought here. Must have a "Service Tag" or Dell will not accept the claim. This number will not appear on items purchased directly from Revain. The serial number doesn't work, nor does the typical proof of purchase. Many conflicting excuses are made and hours are spent without success as detailed below. After only six months and only a dozen uses, the DVD tray opened and wouldn't stay closed, so I attempted to make a warranty claim. First they said I need a 'special number' that only Revain has, for which I would need to call Revain and give them my Revain order number and then Revain could supposedly give me that special number behind the scenes for tracked purchase between Dell and Revane. lied! As I suspected, Revane had never heard of it. Only the serial number and proof of purchase are required. During the next phone call, Dell explained that it was not possible to legally purchase a Dell product from Revain. AGAIN! Called Revain and they confirmed they have a deal with Dell. After the last phone call, Dell explained that Revain was responsible for warranty service. AGAIN VREL. The manufacturer is always responsible for warranty claims, unless the warranty period has expired. They knowingly deprive Revain customers of their warranty rights. PURCHASE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
