Review on Zebra Instruments Protector Protection 120 240V by Chuck Hernandez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Decent insurance for an expensive engine!

I've had a Lennox oven with a Genteq fan motor for six years with no problems, but after doing a little research on the failure rates of these ECMs I decided to buy it as cheap insurance. It was only necessary to remove the lower front panel, reach to the right and pull out the motor cable connector, insert this adapter between the cable and the motor and connect the ground ring to the nearest chassis ground screw. Reattach the plate and stick a sticker indicating the installation of VZPRO for a possible visit by a specialist in the future and that's it. The 115V AC green LED is not visible (the 220V LED is not used for my oven) as it is pointing into the fan housing, but I verified that it was lit by momentarily turning the power back on when it was disconnected from the engine. Either this is a design flaw or some of the motor connections are rotated 180 degrees so the LED faces outwards in this case. I also installed a whole house protection and an outlet protection connected to the outlet of the furnace condensate pump so I need to be protected!
