This is an expensive carbon monoxide alarm but we have three families living in our area and two of them sleep in apartment buildings. The weather changes and mobile homes are heated with gas. At night when the vans are closed there is a risk of something going wrong, so just to be on the safe side we put this carbon monoxide detector in ours. It's a good idea to install it like a regular smoke alarm. When we put our house up for sale, our real estate agent told us that unless there was a carbon monoxide detector near the bedrooms, it could be noted against us on inspection. Better yet, have them in different places around the house. My husband said it was easy to set up and run. I hope we never have to hear the warning that our home has dangerous levels of carbon monoxide. It's easy to forget these things so they'll go ahead as planned, I've got my smoke detectors on. During the summer period, all batteries are checked, replaced or recharged. Until I know exactly how long this charge will last, I'll be testing it every few weeks to make sure it's still working. I feel more secure knowing our small RV has this safety feature.
