They are not weldable as advertised

Supposed to be weldable mild steel but they are chrome plated and you have to grind the chrome to make them weldable. It's just stupid. Who would have thought chrome BEFORE welding was a good idea? In addition, the connector threads do not match the threads of the so-called "weld-on" inserts. The fit is terribly sloppy and doesn't seal properly. Do not buy these parts completely unusable.
