THIS IS UPDATE. I GIVE UP. Sometimes it works/toasts properly. but now I see that it is completely unreliable. This morning I turned the dial to medium toast, pushed the button on the bagel and it charred the bagel (mostly on one side), then it charred completely - singed a piece of bread. I then put in another piece of bread and had to look up and down several times to get it toasted enough - and even then the bottom 1/5 didn't toast. I cannot recommend this toaster. This is a big disappointment. Changed my rating from 5 stars to 1 star. >>> This is the same comment: Looks great in our kitchen - matte black sides, attractive stainless steel finish; nice little toaster. But first - an early use - it toasted more on one side of the bread than the other. But now that it's been used a few times, it roasts evenly as it should. Nice features of the toaster include attractive blue-lit buttons (Cancel, Bagel, Defrost) and a pull-out crumb tray. The toast controller is easy to use. I spent a week researching toasters and settled on this one first. >>> BUT NOW ON JANUARY 10, 2021 I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS TOASTER.
