Bad hardware and software

Garmin is terribly disappointing. What they have created here is a product straight out of the Blackberry era. As far as I can see they don't offer anything close to a modern device in the wearable market. It's bad hardware combined with bad software. i give it back It burns me that I also have a Garmin in the car, which is also worse, and that I didn't return it. Never! Here are just some of the issues I've encountered in my short time as an owner: The screen is tiny. I need glasses for reading and walking in the desert sun. The screen is practically unusable. My smartphone works perfectly under the same conditions without glasses. - It's far from intuitive - Apparently Garmin doesn't have the best technical minds working. - It has a protruding joystick - In your pocket, this joystick hits when you turn on the screen. wasting battery power. - You cannot search the location by state. - Enter any state and NULL results will be returned. - The method of changing the order of items in the main menu is different from the route planning menu - who developed this? - The "Delete routes" menu actually contains the settings for deleting all. WHAT? - No geocaches. The only reason I'm giving this 2 stars instead of 1 is because of credible data. (Edited 2/20/21): Below is the solution I have used since returning this unit. . I hike a lot, mostly off-trail, and I need a dedicated device just for mapping. I bought a big screen phone from the store - you don't need to activate it as the GPS works without it. I disabled every app I could to save battery life. Then I downloaded and bought Gaia to create maps and find routes (All Trails works too). After purchase, you can download the maps before you set off. You can also activate the service over the phone, so you don't have to download the maps beforehand, but it costs significantly more. I also added a protective case with a backpack clip and an external battery to make the device bulletproof and last even longer than the Garmin. This setup was just amazing. Gaia is great. Maps on the big screen. Hardware and software are modern and intuitive. Accuracy is the same as Garmin. I have access to dozens of map types including historical topographic maps. Finally, it's an even cheaper option! Frankly, it's shocking that a company that does this can't do this.
