Review on Highly Efficient Targus Wireless Presenter Laser Pointer for Professional Presentations: Bluetooth Enabled Control (AMP16US-52) by Rovy Oppeneer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Absolutely GREAT!

I do 20-30 presentations a week a year. I display Powerpoints, PDFs and CAD drawings on the screen. After trying a few remote presentation pointers (even big names like MS or Logitech) none of them had the full functionality I needed and some missing features made me go to my laptop and do what I wanted needed to use the good old mouse, which makes the presentation lose momentum (if you do these things you know what I mean). I bought a Targus AMP02US a while ago and apart from its 1960s look, not very good keys and that the presentation key would only send F5 to powerpoint (so the presentation always started on slide 1) it had everything I wanted needed: mouse control, laser, next and previous slide and more. It was also difficult to drag while holding down the left mouse button and move the cursor with the joystick at the same time, plus the laser button couldn't be smaller. But overall it was better than any previous pointer I've used. Then I switched to AMP09US. It was like a dream. All of these issues have been solved and several bonuses have been added: - The appearance is sleek and stylish - The receiver is stored in the same body as the pointer, no case required, no loose parts - There is room for a spare battery in the pointer so you can keep it switch immediately if you run out of battery power during a presentation. The presentation button will now send the correct command to PowerPoint: Shift + F5, thereby starting the presentation on the slide you have on the screen. You press the mouse grip (or the laser button), it works like a left click, so drag and drop work like a dream. - Illuminated buttons in white for next/previous slide and green around laser/mouse button. - In pointer mode (middle joystick is a laser, side buttons are next/previous slide) you can block unnecessary buttons (then a discrete red indicator will light up) to avoid accidental commands. - In mouse mode (middle button moves the cursor and when pressed clicks left mouse button, side mouse button left/right) the light is always green. The color change is nice because you look at the mouse pointer and see if you're in mouse/pointer lock mode, and then without thinking, press the command you want - in mouse mode, the "Show On/Off" and "Dim Screen" buttons open ' the MyPC folder and click the Windows 'Start' button. Here's how you can access or run anything on a PC. And for those who still hold on to their Macs, it also has a Mac mode. The absence of this pointer might be a bit more convenient, this is the way to go. I couldn't be happier with this product. This is a notice. By the way, I bought it at the airport for $80 because the good looks and specs looked promising; he really gives everything he says. If you are a professional presenter go for it, it's a worthwhile investment.

Pros
  • Preinstalled connection, no driver required
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
