I had to cut a 3 inch hole in my brick wall of my 1950's ranch in order to to install a mini split air conditioner. To be honest, using this hole saw to face brick was a pain. Extremely slow progress. The brick resists this crown strongly. It probably took 3-4 hours to drill directly, then hollow out the pieces and punch a core through 4-5 inch brick again. However, drilling the outer and inner walls of the cinder block cavity only took about 10 minutes per wall. Of course, you'll need an arbor for a hole saw, a hammer drill to handle the load, and an extension for a hex bit. With a drill extension and chisels I was able to do the same basic work as very deep and much more expensive rock hole saws.
