Review on Argon ONE M.2 Raspberry Pi SSD Board (Expansion Board ONLY) - Supports B-Keys and B+M Keys - Exclusive Compatibility with Argon ONE V2 Raspberry Pi 4 Cases by Gabe Smith

Revainrating 3 out of 5

This is a beautifully designed upgrade to a Raspberry Pi 4 desktop (that's right, I said "desktop ")

Argon ONE M.2 SATA expansion card arrived today, along with a new M.2 SATA card ( 256 gig) arrived I already had some Argon ONE cases which were hands down the best Raspberry Pi 4 cases out there so all I had to do was upgrade the base to have the SSD USB boot capability. I installed a new M.2 board in a new Argon SSD. Expansion Base and temporarily installed a Base/USB 3.0 jumper (no screws) and left my microSD in the Raspberry Pi 4 just to copy the OS to the new SSD. I used the SD Card Copier utility to copy the OS from my microSD card to the new M.2 SATA SSD memory card I configured advanced boot options in Raspi-Config to boot from USB (caveat - you may need to update the Raspi_Config utility). I turned off my Raspberry Pi 4. I removed the Argon SSD expansion base and my microSD card From my Raspberry Pi 4 I reinstalled a new Argon SSD expansion base (screws and all) but now without a microSD card in my Raspberry Pi 4 I have turned on and the Raspberry Pi 4 booted from the USB SSD card! All I can say is AMAZING - I made these changes without a guide - doesn't get any better - damn fast! As a professional engineer, I can also say that this is a perfectly designed upgrade for Raspberry Pi 4 desktop.
