I did a lot of reading before purchasing this product. I recently started exercising again and needed help with cardio and sore muscles. That helped in both cases. 1 teaspoon in my fruit juice 20 minutes before workout and I'm good to go. It reduced my overall pain and recovery time from 3 to 2, allowing me to train again on day 2 (I'm in my 50's - delaying the onset of muscle pain varies with age). I am so pleased with it that I recommend it to my patients. In addition, it has no discernible taste. Regarding this particular type of citrulline - all the studies I've read on pain, recovery and endurance recommend L-citrulline, 2:1 DL-Malate for ATP (muscle energy) availability before exercise. It is also a precursor to arginine, but lasts longer in the body than arginine, meaning that nitric oxide production is higher with this form. Citrulline is watermelon-based but does not appear to have the same effects as real watermelon in sulfur-sensitive IBS sufferers.
