Review on πŸ”Œ Deluxe Compression Tester S-1251 by Milton, USA by James Townsend

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Poor quality and inaccurate readings.

Compression gauges don't have to be of the highest quality but I was a little disappointed in the quality of this item. The back of the pressure gauge is made of chrome-plated plastic. It looks like it will break if you hit it hard enough or drop it. I had some trouble keeping the gasket in place since the washers are installed in the base. At first I didn't read the readings, then I read that sometimes dirt or other foreign objects get into the sensor and have to open it to clean it. I did as the instructions said and he held the compression and gave a reading. My readings seemed to be in the low 120 pounds per cylinder. I later took the car to my mechanic who used his tool to check the compression. It came in at 175 pounds per cylinder. He said maybe I had a bad sensor or gasket. Either way it's too hassle to return, so I'm sticking with it so I can sell it at the next flea market. I would not recommend this item.
