Holy smoke, these things have been used by the last few generations. No matter what wood it is made of, it is soft and absorbs moisture. The wood has the texture, feel and smell of softwood. The moisture lifted the texture of the wood, becoming rough and sticking to the fabric. All after about 3 months of moderate use. Very disappointing. I'm glad other reviewers got a quality product.
