I felt safe again

I am very happy with this film, it has been running for a week now. I bought silver and black. My main goal was to make it so no one could see into my house during the day after my native white scavenger neighbors broke into my house. I was pleasantly surprised at the heat blocking effect it had throughout the day. I was concerned before buying it that it would look weird with an outside mirror effect, but you can't even tell unless you're standing in front of a window and seeing your own reflection. The installation really annoyed me because I had never tinted all the windows before. Also, I didn't have any help because my husband's butt was hanging off the bed lol. Due to his absolute laziness with all chores around the house, I felt quite comfortable with new tasks like this. I'm definitely not saying it's not bloody boring though. The instructions say to remove the protective film from the side of the mirror, stick the film to the window, and then stick the protective film back to the back before smoothing it out to avoid scratches. For me, this is the biggest design flaw. The screen protector is not smooth and has a sticky, "grippy" surface that makes it difficult to use anything to smooth the window film and remove bubbles. So there will be scratches on the film. I personally haven't found a way to avoid this. I've even bought a tint kit that had scrapers to apply felt or suede to and used an entire spray bottle of water to no avail. Most of my scratches are gone, but to be honest, deep down in my picky, unconscious heart, it worries me a little. After thinking I smoothed out all the bubbles, I saw this blue haze under the foil. . It's water and will be gone in a few days. The film from the inside gives a slight blur during the day, a mosaic effect. The tint darkens my house like cheap black gas station sunglasses. The light looks like it's a gray day outside. And it's scary at night because you can't see anything unless you're really close to the window. It looks like a black piece of plexiglass and with the light on you can see your reflection better than outside. And yes, you can see outside at night. would i do it again Now I would say yes. My neighbors broke in during the day and apparently climbed into my house during the day. I have a feeling that addicts would probably be more cowardly if they couldn't look at it at all. But I guess so, I'm not a thieving drug addict. This film gave me the confidence that after breaking the privacy of my home I could open the curtains again during the day and feel normal. Will I leave it for the winter? Probably no. It's summer now, so it's light outside, in the south we have an average of 90 degrees a day, so the film helps with the temperature. It gets dark quicker in winter, so the shade might make my house too dark. Plus the scratches - yeah I'm still thinking about them lol and I'm not sure I can ignore them forever. They're not terrible, but when the light hits them directly, it tickles my perfection nerves. I'll probably take it off when I'm completely comfortable again. My neighbors moved out 3 days after they broke in and I met them. I also walked around the area and told all my neighbors to look around the area during the day when most people were at work. The police were constantly in the area and sometimes even parked in my driveway. This helped them decide that they needed to move ASAP and that their burglary and drug concert would be in our quiet little neighborhood. I'm saying all this for other victims looking for solace after the hack. This window film has really helped me feel comfortable again in and out of the house. So totally worth the money in my opinion and a headache from freezes and scratches. Be sure to shell out the extra $13 for the tint kit, as this film doesn't offer applicators.
