Review on 🧲 Enhanced Master Magnetics 07612 Red Magnetic Stud Finder with Shield - Drywall Screw and Nail Locator by Brian Shakey

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Weak magnet for product size and weight

It's heavy and feels solid and magnets stick to drywall screws, not strong but acceptable. As with any magnetic stud finder, there are additional steps required to confirm the center of the stud. The main problem and the reason for the deduction of 3 valuable stars is that the magnets are TOO WEAK to hold the nail finder itself on the wall, so it can stay in place while marking nail positions or other things. The black and yellow product sticks to the wall and stays in place every time. It also includes a bubble level and costs about the same as this product. I return it and leave black and yellow. That can help. After the magnet finds a screw/nail and you move the magnet in the opposite direction, it will often point to another screw/nail next to the first one you found. This is evident when the magnet is attracted to two separate points that appear to be adjacent since a typical 2x4 wood post is only 1 1/2 inches thick. The center of the hairpin should (but not always) be in the middle of these two points. In any case, always check, especially if heavy objects are hanging. If you have the opportunity to peek inside a house under construction in your area, or even get a close look at HGTV, the process makes more sense and is very simple.
