A little background: I rent an apartment on the 3rd floor with a balcony. A sliding glass door opens onto the balcony. I have a wonderful cat that I love very much so I turned the balcony into a fenced katio. I had one of those sliding glass dog doors installed for her and after installing it I noticed a massive bug/mosquito infestation. It took me forever to understand where they came from. Eventually I realized that installing the dog door meant that there was now about a 1 inch gap between the sliding door and the fixed glass pane. Not only did this gap allow for a large number of insects, but also the temperature of the outside air (and my electric bill was ridiculous). I tried filling the gap with some styrofoam and then chopped pool noodles. Both methods worked well, but they made it impossible to open the door once installed. Then I finally found this product! Here is the review: This product was AMAZING for my problem. It was very easy to install (took less than 5 minutes) and the adhesive is awesome! Not only have my mistake and the temperature issue been fixed, now there is no more wind blowing through the gap! And the best part is that I can still open and close my sliding glass door with no problem! This product was a lifesaver, and at a very reasonable price!
