This is normal. They're pretty comfortable (surprisingly). You have a great stretch. They don't shine through. But they certainly don't flatter my body type. I'm not sure if it's the color, the fact that I appreciate it, or just the style in general. The color is not even close to the picture. I have a red pair. They look so pretty dark red in the photo. But in real life, they're pretty boring to look at. Just an ordinary dull red. How superficial (laughs) now. that's not even my biggest problem with them! Inside the high waist belt is a 1 inch elastic. It's not sewn at all. What is worse? The ends don't even stick together! It just floats there, totally useless! IF I kept them I would cut a slit in the waistband and just pull out the elastic. It literally does nothing but curl up and leave obvious bulges. I tried smoothing it out to show it in the picture but I think it's hard to see. In general, I return them. I would probably leave them if the color is right. But that dull shade of red looks terrible on my skin tone. I'm not sure if I'll try a different color or if I should just order my normal size. I'm just worried that they'll be too tight and the fat on the legs will stick out of the cutouts. For reference; 5'3, 170 lbs, Mom has 3 bellies and big thighs. I usually wear oversized jogging bottoms but I chose size XL for them as I expected them to run small. The fit was fine. I could probably just order my normal size. I didn't like size XL, but it didn't feel like tight track pants either. I'm really wondering if I have a lemon or an elastic band with risers in each pair. 🤷‍♀️
