Unplug this part first to see if the noise stops, buy this replacement (IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE YOU GET THE EXACT PART NUMBER), they have different electrical contact configurations. Follow the instructions and you're done. The hardest part is removing the top screw. I haven't reinstalled it since and it works great. Problem solved!
