The plastic of the lever is too flexible.
lever plastic is too flexible, much more flexible than the original part. The part that catches the end of the cable flexes, allowing the cable to pop out before the cover is removed. The original part is pretty cheap and probably shouldn't be plastic. This one is even cheaper and has no chance to work.
