The first time my dog slipped off the collar on the 3rd day after he was rescued we went straight to Martingale as I didn't want to risk his life and couldn't live with me if I let that something happened to him. This is the one we picked up at our local big pet store specifically for the quick release feature. That was over 3.5 years ago. About 2 months ago I bought an additional board "just in case" at a great price. I'm glad I did because one side of the plastic clip broke off last night. Remember that this is after almost 4 years of continuous daily use. Our family is SO happy with this product and hopes the replacement is as reliable as the first! (PS: DO NOT use this product as a regular collar. Martingales are NOT designed to do this. The martingale stays on a leash at all times, all relevant dog IDs are attached to a separate regular collar that our dog wears at all times. When used correctly this martingale is fantastic !
