Review on Enhance Performance: Mr. Gasket 1270 Oil Filter Conversion Kit for Chev V8, Silver by Ashton Dahmer

What a mess. This product is of very poor quality. The sealing surfaces of the castings were so bad that the oil filter barely made full contact when screwed in, but I figured there were plenty of these on sale so that shouldn't be a problem. I installed this part very carefully not to overtighten as it is a cast and not solid aluminum. Installed the filter, filled the engine with oil, started the car to check for leaks and as soon as I got under the car, oil was pouring over the back of the oil filter. Thought maybe I wasn't tight enough. Disassembled everything to make sure it's ripped on the back. The wall has been sanded at the factory and made thin in this area (see photo). Luckily I caught it before I went on my journey. I think I'll take it as a learning experience and stick with the standard canister filter. I definitely do not recommend this product.
