Review on Midline Valve IXW U001 5 Radiator Temperature by James Nedumaran

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Valves MUST shut off, but not

Okay, yes they are brass. Excellent. Unfortunately these 5 pack valves do not have a gasket to ensure a complete seal when the valve is closed. In the closed (off) state, metal-to-metal contact. and let off steam. If the valve is connected to a radiator and you close it, you probably won't notice that it's letting steam into the radiator. If the radiator is separated from the valve during the heating season, e.g. B. to paint a room, fix the floor, etc., and the steam valve is fully closed and the steam system is on, you will find steam coming out of the valve. . in copious amounts. Not good. Should the steam valve be either in the fully open position, allowing steam to flow into the condenser and condensate to flow back out of the condenser (in a mono-tube steam system), and when is the valve closed? NO steam should escape from the tube. Just imagine a faucet doing the same thing. Yes, cast iron LINKS do not have gaskets, but they do have a large surface area and DO NOT vent steam. . ERGO. these valves result in vapor leakage due to the lack of seals. FAILED the vapor emission test. They are going back!
