Unless you can afford a big nice chopping board; this is what you must have. It works great as a hard surface, even on carpeted floors. Staggered, curved and jagged lines are very comfortable for me. The labeled grid is awesome. Strong but flexible. I've gone through quite a few of these over the years. Used them until they cracked. Do not sew without them - irreplaceable!
