Review on πŸ”’ Secure Your Notebook Anywhere with the Kensington K64560US ComboSaver Portable Computer Lock by Robert Moloney

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Strong to the touch not difficult to use

In general I would say this lock is exactly what it claims to be. It offers a moderate level of security in a small package - it won't let anyone get away with your laptop and it's easy to carry. It seems solid and well made, but it's a compact item, light and compact, so can be defeated with fairly basic tools. So if someone is really motivated it wouldn't be TOO hard to break/cut/disable the lock, but it's MUCH better than no lock at all. posted very clear instructions on how to set your own combination. I wanted to see how bad the instructions really are, so I deliberately didn't look at the clear instructions in the other review and just followed the instructions in the manual. I had no trouble building my own combo - you'll need to follow the diagrams carefully (including the location of the spring-loaded button and the "tool" attached to the loop). But if you are careful and follow step by step, it's really not difficult. My only small issue is that the coiled cord is a bit tricky to manage. It's twisted fairly tightly so it can pull on your laptop when stretched out and tangle on its own. However, the winder makes the whole thing very compact when not in use, and there's an unwound version (albeit for an extra $15) so the "complaint" about the winder is really moot - that was mine. choice to buy spiral. If you are looking for a simple and easy to carry laptop protection, I would highly recommend this lock. This is especially beneficial given the current $10 discount.
