Review on πŸ”’ Enhanced Security: Black Pop and Lock for Toyota Tacoma 2005-2015 by Efrain Khan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy installation, with a similar fit and finish to a Toyota grip.

I read all the reviews about the trunk lock handle. I didn't want to, but locking the back door seemed like the best option now that I had cover. Perhaps the design and manufacturing has been streamlined as I didn't notice any issues with the matte finish of the handle. It matched the molding at the top of the tailgate. If you look at Toyota's non-locking handle, the fit and finish are comparable. As with the original pen, the four mounting screws have brass inserts so you don't screw into the plastic. The mechanism is simple, with large gaps. The camera installs in the same position as the standard grip. Installation took 25 minutes including 10 minutes searching for my torx bit. I will update this review after using it for a while. A few installation tips: There is a large Phillips head screw on top of the latch toggle switch. looks free I tried to tighten it and almost ruined the glass. Check the screw if you want, but don't try to overtighten it. Looseness to allow everything to spin freely. After removing the liftgate, blow out any dirt that has collected in the seam on the underside of the liftgate. Apply some rust preventive or heavy oil to this seam. You'll thank me in a dozen years. When you reattach the covers, do not overtighten the torx screws, they may tear the plastic.
