It's nice to be pleasantly surprised. I feared shipping damage on a box that large and heavy, but it was packaged with wood bracing on all the edges and 4 heavy plastic corner protectors inside the wood. It arrived in perfect condition. It is a heavy box! Paying the extra $20 fee to have it placed in the room of your choice was well worth it for me to have it dropped off in the basement. Assembly was easy and took about 20 minutes to unbox and assemble. I love the table!
